Toni Byrd, dubbed as “The Velvet SongByrd,” is a world class recording artist,  songwriter, award winner of the 2014 Black Women In Jazz for Best Black Female Jazz Record for “Autumn In New York”, semi-finalist in the 2014 Indaba Music “Sarah Vaughn International Jazz Vocal Competition” and is an unforgettable and versatile song stylist. In addition to all of her credits, add actress to her impressive list.  Currently based in Atlanta, this beautiful native Memphian was cast in a primary role playing the character “Ida Belle” in the movie, “Lawless,” an American crime drama film directed by John Hillcoat with screenplay by Nick Cave and starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Guy Pierce, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowksa, Jason Clarke and Gary Oldman. Byrd recorded background vocals for the TV series pilot, “Still The King”, starring Billy Ray Cyrus and in December of 2016, under the historical Obama Administration, performed at the White House Tour in Washington, DC. Byrd is the first female vocalist to perform at the legendary Pinewood Atlanta Studios (known for James Bond, Marvel and Pirates of the Caribbean movies) in 2014 for the kickoff gala celebrating the New American location in Fayetteville, Georgia.  (source: https://www.tonibyrd.net/biography)

Kenny Banks

 

Kenny Banks is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger and performer who slips effortlessly among musical styles while retaining his own distinct sound. This Columbus Ohio native has been studying and playing since the age of seven. Kenny has appeared on BET and the Image Awards. He has performed at the inauguration and the United Nations Ceremony for President Barack Obama and appeared in such notable places as Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Philharmonie in Berlin. Kenny has also appeared in movie scenes from Tyler Perry’s “The Family That Preys”and has a composition entitled “Hello Love” on the GMC movie “Raising Izzie”. Among his many high profile performing credits are appearances with Earl Klugh, Kenny Garrett, Wess Anderson, Russell Gunn, Lizz Wright, Rene Marie, Kevin Mahogany, Kurt Whalum, Albertina Walker, Dorothy Norwood, Jennifer Holiday, Aretha Franklin and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Kenny received his Master’s degree in Jazz Studies at Georgia State University. Thanksgiving Brunch at The Studio Cafe

It is that time of year again! It is finally turkey time at The Studio Cafe Operated by Hanna Brothers. This year we will be OPEN the weekend after Thanksgiving for the first time ever! On this day, we will not be serving lunch at The Studio Cafe. Detour

Just a Friendly Reminder Regarding the Detour!

Detour RoutesJust a friendly reminder to follow the detour routes on Veterans Parkway.

Veterans Parkway is undergoing construction at Sandy Creek. As of right now there is no left turn allowed onto Sandy Creek from Veterans Parkway and no left turn onto Veterans Parkway from Sandy Creek.

Please proceed from Veterans Parkway to Eastin Rd (turn left onto Eastin if you passed the cafe or turn right if coming from lee’s mill/ hwy 92). At the end of Eastin, turn left onto Sandy Creek. Once at the end of Sandy Creek, turn into The Studio Cafe parking lot.

Out of respect for the planted protected wild flowers on Veterans Parkway, please do not park on Veterans or move the cones and tape to take a short cut into the parking lot.

We have been informed that Pinewood Atlanta Studios will be towing cars parked on Veterans. We do not want any of our customers towed, so please follow the detour route and park in the parking lot.

We apologize for the inconvenience and confusion. Once the construction is complete, it will be a much easier turn onto Sandy Creek. Thank you for your continued support!

Road Closure

Road Closure at Sandy Creek and Veteran’s Parkway Starting Today.

We apologize for any inconvenience. We’re going to experience some road closures due to the round-about construction on Sandy Creek and Veteran’s Parkway. The construction work will begin today 3/28/18 and go for approximately 3 weeks, weather pending. Please see the attached picture showing the routes to navigate to The Studio Cafe during this period.
